Melody Wolcott & Nature’s Voices

The love of photography started for me in the early 1980’s, when I graduated from high school and was given a Polaroid camera by my Aunt Carol.  I was always taking pictures of family and friends, and then in the 1990’s, I met Doug Schmid, and he had a bug for traveling and being outdoors as well.  He purchased for me, a Nikon D70 Digital Camera and that’s when a journey for me began.

In 2005 I experienced ‘Spirit’ – visually, and I knew it was time for me to make a move or a change.  Something was happening that I could not explain but I felt that I just needed to go with it.  I went through a lot of emotional purging and kicked a smoking habit and through it all, by my side, was Nature.  Mother Earth was helping me to heal and my photography began emerging with a new sense and feel to it.  I as well, had awakened senses I didn’t know I had.

Two years ago, through my friend Anna, I became acquainted with the Holistic Studies Institute in Albany.  I have now finished Psychic Development Classes, Levels 1, 2, and 3; am a Certified Intuitive Consultant and now also a Certified Reiki Practitioner, with soon to finish Reiki Master training.

For about a year or so I’ve been giving framed photography to friends and family as gifts, and have also donated some to fund raisers.  Last Christmas I finally, with the continued encouragement of my co-workers, put myself out there and matted a bunch of prints and sold them.  I had an over-whelming response to this, so when Lis approached me to do a Gallery Showing, without hesitation, I agreed.

Thank you all for supporting me and my passion.  Let me help you get in touch with Nature again so that the healing may begin.

With Love and Light to you all –

Melody

  1. Melody is such a wonderful person, as soon as you meet her you know she is here for a special reason. Melody has a gift when it comes to photography and framing her prints. You won’t be disappointed, so check out her photography at the Crossroads.

  2. Melody, I was not able to attend your gallery opening event, but did get there to see your gallery of images. They were beautiful, I loved the images as well as your displays. Great Job.

  3. Melody thanks for helping me understand myself and the world around me. I don’t know where I would be today if it wasn’t for your kind and gentle guidance. There is so much beauty in the world I would have otherwise missed if it were not for your bright soul.

    Thank You.
